Community Fence Painting

Allerton Grange Fields gates and fence receives new paint job!

Allerton Grange Fields has recently received a major makeover thanks to 20 corporate volunteers from ASDA who helped Friends of Allerton Grange Fields paint the steel palisade gates and fences along Lidgett Lane and Talbot Avenue.

This exciting community led makeover project was funded by ASDA and Leeds City Council Housing Advisory Panel as part of the Voluntary Action Leeds (VAL) ‘Business Doing Good in Leeds’ initiative and ‘Give and Gain at ASDA’ programme which involves ASDA staff at all levels from Senior Executives to Security Guards donate 51,000 hours to volunteering in Leeds.

Lucy Earnshaw, Retail Operations Manager for Asda said

“We had so much fun as a team getting stuck into painting the fences at Allerton Grange Fields. We can’t believe that spending a few hours volunteering away from our desks has made a massive difference to the local community. By working closely with our partners Voluntary Action Leeds we can ensure we are supporting the charities, schools and good causes in Leeds that need our help most”
