The 2.5ha (6 acre) Allerton Grange Playing Fields is located to the west of the new Allerton Grange School boundary; grade II listed Moor Allerton Hall and Moor Allerton Hall Primary School. The western boundary is also defined by the new public right of way and cycle route. The fields are bound by residential streets to the north with Talbot Avenue, to the east with Bentcliffe Gardens and to the south with Lidgett Lane. The site is in Roundhay Ward, but borders Moortown Ward to the north and east. The site in public ownership (Leeds City Council).

In June 2010, The Friends of Allerton Grange held two Public Consultation Events held at the Friends of Gledhow Valley Woods (FGVW) Family Fun Day Event on Saturday 19th June and at The Open Door on Saturday 26th June 2010. The Residents Survey and Public Consultation Events were promoted via Friends of Gledhow Valley Woods E-Newsletter, REAP E-Bulletin and the ‘About My Area LS8’ Community Website.
